Star Wars

(Also known as Star Wars IV: A New Hope)

{Certified Fresh} {Hall of Fame Movie}

This is one of the best Star Wars movie (second behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens) out there, and not only that, it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in my life. I remember when I was younger and I wasn’t as big as a movie critic as I am now so I thought it was eh, but after seeing it twice and thinking it’s one of the best movies ever, I can truly confirm it! It’s such an epic Sci-Fi movie that you can’t help but really love it. And for me, this movie also brings me back to the days when I was really into Star Wars!

It follows Luke Skywalker who is a normal boy wanting more to his life. One day when he and his uncle purchase two droids (C-3PO and R2-D2) little does he know that it’s the turning point in his boring life. He soon gets into an adventure for more than he bargained for. He follows Ben-Kenobi and Han Solo to rescue Princess Leia, and after that they have plans to destroy the Death Star. It’s such a simple plot, but it’s rich character building is amazing. The plot is epic . . . sometimes a simple plot like Star Wars is the plot that wins people over.

I can hardly imagine how people’s reaction were when this was released in 1977 when they first saw this in theaters. This a movie that stands the test of time. The CGI Sci-Fi affects may not have as big as affects now then it did back then, but that isn’t what wins me over in this movie. What wins me over in this movie is the likeable characters, and the simple plot. But I feel like the best part about this movie that keeps this movie from falling into depths of boringness is John William’s freaking score for this movie! It’s a score that you can’t easily remember once you hear it! And also, John William as composed other notable scores such as in: Jurassic Park, Home Alone, and the Indiana Jones series.

Little did the actors/actresses in this film know how big of a phenomal Star Wars will become in history.The movies just together has grossed over $15 billion worldwide (some adjusted for inflation), not to mention all the products they have sold! But Star Wars has become one of the most successful series worldwide. Even if some of the Star Wars movies (even the spin off series) got poor reviews, it has always managed to scrape always a over $500 million (with an exception with Solo). I can’t explain what Star Wars means to the world, and what it means to each person. But for me, this phenomal series is just something I can always look back with fond memeories and one I can always go back and watch and have such a blast!

But the 4th Star Wars/the original one is the ones that started it all, and one that has become one of the most iconic Sci-Fi movie out there. It’s the movie that wowed not only the audiences back then but wows me now. It’s a movie that never loses its magic since 1977, and it’s one that shold wow every generation ever going to come. It’s one of the most inconic classic that even if you don’t hear about the other Star Wars movies (which is hard), this is the one that everyone should at least know and in the end watch. It’s filled with action, drama, and humor that it all blends in easily.

George Lucas made a world that is one after watching this original movie, you’ll want to explore not only the “Galaxy Far Far Away . . . “ but also finding out more about the Star Wars movies! It’s the starter movie that grew the history of it all . . . that got plenty of videogames and many, many fan-fiction books. But it’s this movie that not only makes me appreicate the whole Star Wars movie, but a movie that makes me fall in love with the Movie Industry. It breathes in so much fresh, new things that you wonder how 21st Century movies turns out to be so bad, when the days before 2000, movies were actually good!

Star Wars is a classic. PERIOD! It’s a movie people should see over & over not because of how good it is, but to appreicate the art of filming. It’s a movie that knows what it’s doing, and it’s one that blends everything in the movie in such a rich way even though it’s such a simple-straight forward movie! I love this movie, and it’s such a top classic movie, that it’s one you have to see at least once!

One response to “Star Wars”

  1. “Special effects.” Not “Special affects.”

    Also: “John Williams” and “John Williams’ music.” Not “John William” and “John William’s music.”
